This play presents a version of the myth of Demeter as an allegory for racism, identity, and family in the American South during the Civil War. Many moments utilized movement work, slow-motion, and dance to emphasize the other-worldly nature of the characters. The set emphasized not only the importance of the River but also the quilting-together of the many stories within and without the play.
